p=d-13
n=2d

p+5n+10d=1885

I think you are missing something in "& 6 than dimes"
d-13+5*2d+10d=1885
21d-13=1885
21d=1898
d=90.38?????

I think there should be something about quarters. Just a wild guess on my part.

You need integer solution to

1885 = (d-13) + 2d*5 + 10d,
1885 = 21d -13

Oops, something is missing from your statement. What is the "...& 6 than dimes ..." refer to?

Find out and rewrite the equation. Once you get the number of dimes then you can get everything else.
