f: R-->R

If f is everywhere differentiable with c = sup{lf'(x)l: x in R}<1
why is there a unique y in R for which f(y) = y
*lf'(x)l: absolute value of f'(x)

show counter-example that f is differentiable with lf'(x)l < 1
for any x in R, f need not have any fixed points in R

I built a structure out of stock pannel (15'x5' metal grid ). the total wind surface square footage is 8.4375ft^2. it has 240 lb of sand that holds it down by means of weight on feet at the botom of the structure. for the purpose of this, disregard any breaking points of any material. my question is how much wind would it take to knock it over? How do I work this out? How did you get to your answer?

10.0 liters of oxygen are contained in a diver's tank at 20.0C and 2.0 atm pressure. What is the pressure when the tank is left exposed to the sun and it is heated to 45C?

Ok--I know that [(Pressure1*Volume1)/Temperature1] = [(Pressure2*Volume2)/Temperature2]

but how would I solve this? I don't know what the volume increases to, so is this solvable?
