Here's a neat fact, due to some quirks in the English language, the adjective "Cytherean" means "of or pertaining to Venus." There are, of course, a many other equivalent words, most commonly used is "Venusian."

Its the hottest planet in our solar sytem although it is not the closest. Venus' atmosphere is thought to be mostly made up of carbon dioxide therefore its atmosphere retains almost all the heat which hits the surface. It the ultimate example of how Earth can become if we continue to pump carbon dioxide (greenhouse gases) into our atmosphere.
