A systems analyst needs to summarize 9000 documents. The docs describe end-user (non)usage and (dis)satisfation. Usage is reported as teh number of hours per week; the populationvariance for usage is 400 hours hours. Satisfaction is reported as satisfied or non-satisfied. The analyst wants to avoid sampling errors if possible, and does not want to review all 9000 docs unless required.

An analyst selected 100 docs as the proper sample size to account for a certainty level of 90%. How many documents should he select to account for a certainty level of 99.7% (which is certainty factor of 3)

I've been mulling over this for a while and for some retarded reason I can't come up with results. Can i get an answer and explanation please. Thanks. ~Flip

The following is the balanced equation for the reaction in which ammonia (NH3) is used to produce the fertilizer ammonium nitrate: NH3+HNO3-->NH4NO3

A.
How many moles of NH3 are needed to make one mole of NH4NO3

B.
How many moles of HNO3 are needed to make one mole of NH4NO3

C.
Assume you have 51grams of NH3. Using the periodic tabl, compute the molar mass of NH3 and determine how many moles are present in the 51 grams.

D.
How many moles of NH4NO3 can be formed from the number of NH3 moles you got as your answer to(C)?

E.
Assume you have 63g of HNO3. Compute the molar mass of HNO3 and determine how many moles are present in the 63g.

F.
How many moles of NH4NO3 can be formed from the number of moles of HNO3 that you got as your answer for (E)

G.
How many moles of NH4NO3 can be formed from the given amounts of NH3 and HNO3?

H.
Which reactant is the limiting reactant, NH3 or HNO3

Is it better for a species to be *very* intelligent but only somewhat social? Or is it better for a species to be *very* social but only somewhat intelligent?

Yes, you can include humans in the discussion. :) I am actually thinking of this in terms of "Would we have turned out better if we had been more social but dumber?"

Thanks for your time! :)

I need serious help.

I need to try and explain what a near death experience is deeper than just an experience you have where you could have died.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was doing an informal project with some friends, and I *really* wound up with the wrong information about Jupiter and its Red Spot in particular....I believe it is still a *storm* of some sort, let's just put it that way, as it seems like all my other information was wrong. So:

--Roughly speaking, how *big* is the thing?
--How long (according to our best knowledge) has it been going?
--Do we have any idea how much energy the thing has in it? Things like wind-speed, direction of rotation, etc. I realize this can't be precise because of the distances involved, but I'd like to know the *correct* stuff this time (or at least as close to it as we can get, being here).

Thanks for your time! :)

Saw a movie recently that had a bit of dialogue between a shrink and her legitimately stressed-out patient that went roughly -- _very_ roughly --

Doctor: What can I do to help you?
Patient: At this point, I need some Valium or something like that.
Doctor: I won't prescribe it. That's drug-seeking behaviour.

Absurd as it is, even the most rational sort of 'I think I am at the point where I am in need of medication' seems to be labelled "drug-seeking behaviour" by a lot of doctors. Are there formal definitions for it?

Help or answers are appreciated.

Jess, who weighs 50 kg, is riding a 10-kg skateboard. The skateboard and Jess are moving east at 5 m/sec. Jess falls off the skateboard and hits the ground at 4 m/sec east, relative to the ground. Calculate the velocity of the skateboard.

The end of the lever of a tire jack travels 7 m for every centimeter that it lifts the car. If the car has a mass of 1000 kg and a force of 50 N is needed to lift the car, what is the efficiency of the jack?

Thank you
