My question is - how can I make it the fastest possible with all I've got. Would gears or a pulley system be better? Please explain.

There are equations where the graphed line would never pass over the 'y' axis, giving no solutions where 'y'=0.

Clearly I don't understand much about quadratic equations (or math in general), so please answer in stupid-people language.

Using Le Chatelier's Principle, explain what is happening in the test tubes

HInd + OH- <===> Ind- + H2O

Place several drops of thymolphthalein indicator into each of three test tubes.

To the first tube add about 1 mL of 0.1 M hydrochloric acid (HCl).
-No visible change

To the second tube add about 2 mL of 0.1 M ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH).
-blue solution formed, white ppt appeared on standing

To the third tube add about 1 mL of 0.1 M sodium hydroxide (NaOH).
-dark blue solution formed

Split the contents of the second tube in two by pouring about half of its contents into a new test tube. Call these tubes "2a" and "2b."

Add a few drops of 1M hydrochloric acid to tube 2a, and a few drops of 1M ammonium chloride to tube 2b. Record your observations.
2a - blue solution turned colorless, white ppt insoluble in HCl
2b - blue solution turned colorless, white ppt insoluble in HCl

A 7.23 kg block is on top of a table (frictionless, horizontal surface). The first block is connected by a cord passing over a pulley to another block of mass 4.09 kg which hangs in the air over the right side of the table. The cord is weightless & massless and does not stretch. The pulley has no friction or rotational inertia. The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2.

Calculate the acceleration of the first block (in m/s^2). I got .361307 and then recalculated and got -2.71837 m/s & doubt either is correct (sigh loudly).

Calculate the tension in the cord (answer in N).

Can't figure out what I am doing wrong....if I am sure I understand and have the right answers it will help me move on to other problems. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
i did this experiment and when i calculated the formula or missing compund it doesnt seem right.
can you please help; i have listed the experiment, the given & found values, and what to find below.

Thank you in advance.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Experiment:

In this experiment you will determine the equation of a redox reaction by the use of experimental data.

This is a reaction in which it is not obvious what products will be formed but by finding the relative number of moles reacting
you can deduce what reaction has occured.

The reaction is between bromate ions, BrO3(-) and hydroxylammonium ions NH3OH(+) in aqueous acid solution.
You assume that the bromate are converted to bromide ions, Br(-) (How can this reaction be shoed experimentally)

So the reaction that is being studied is:

BrO3(-) + NH3OH(+) ----> Br(-) + ?

When someone buys a star (in space) as a gift to someone, where or whom gets the money? And how do you know if you completely own it, if it wasn't anyones to sell in the first place?? Plus how would you know if someone hasn't bought the same ball of gas?

I know the Tasmanian tiger is extinct. However, some people believe it is still lurking somewhere on the island.

I have just come into Tassie for business. I also like to go hiking in the wilderness. There is also a lot of wilderness in Tassie. If I should see a tiger, what should I do? Should I try to catch it. Is it dangerous? Please bear in mind the tiger is not like the normal tiger. It is only named as such. Do you think I can set traps for it? Just asking.
