Its outer hull design is impractical, non functional, flimsy, and full of design weaknesses while the Romulan warbird and the Klingon battle cruiser are more sleek ,intimidating, impressive, and practical. If starfleet protects planet earth then how can we not worry? Are we safe? Is anyone else worried?

I've read we have 10 years to "reverse" tha harm we've done to the planet before it's too late, considering this, what do you think should be done? What will happen in 2016-2017? Will it take a global effort to cover the immense cost and work that needs to be done? What do you think? Is humanity doomed?

Of all the answers I had yours was the only one that was actually condescending of course I knew all that , my idea needs a hefty push now and then(made very easy with the help of Archimedes) and if it stops one would use the same principle to restart it you're no know-all we already knew that. What we are looking for,as the question clearly stated,is the means to sell somebody the idea of ALMOST perpetual motion, anybody with their wits about them would realize that this meant it needed a kick from time to time.I'm 39 yrs old and I don't care to be condescended to!Worse still I couldn't find a single bright idea among the answers I had but there was one which slagged off my idea so I hated it ,how can you presume to slag something off that you know NOTHING about. We live in the age of Miracles get a life buddy!Hey!did you know that if you sign on with a different name each time you could answer this Q as many times as you liked and then vote for yourself as best answer!

When i pour water into the glass and tap it repeatedly as the water fills it, it decreases the pitch. Why is this and how come this contradicts the idea that if you shorten the length of the vibrating column the pitch/frequency goes up?
