I love the name Brielle. But I'd prefer it be a longer name and then shorten it. I don't like Gabrielle because I hate Gabby. I have thought of Aubrielle, Ambrielle (Yes JC Penny bra commercial), and Cambrielle. Any other suggestions. Make up a name that sounds good.

What do you think of hyphenating a first name? I want to name my lil girl after my mom and me. I want both names to be her first name. I don't want her just named after me since we will all get confused.

When we are thinking of names for our babies, we concentrate on first and last names, and while it is important for them to sound good together, it is really more important that the first and last name sound good together. The teacher, doctor, DMV office, etc., is not going to call out "Julia Kathryn ", she is going to call out "Julia Smith" or whatever, and "Julia Smith" is what she will have to write and sign. When thinking of a baby name, remember to also practice saying first and last names together to make sure it sounds good. Andy Anderson? Tommy Thompson? That's just cruel, people.

HI, I'm actually trying to choose a country/rock music stage/life name for myself. Who better to ask about names than people thinking 247 about them to name babies? I'm going to be using the new name all the time.

So what do you all think of Mikhaela?

Also as a nickname, I wasn't too keen on Kaela or Mik or Miki, so I started to break it down. Kaela, Kallie, Kali, Allie
