I like the name Deacon but my husband doesn't. Does anyone have any suggestions of similar names? I like it because it sounds very masculine and modern.

When I named my boys, (20) I thought about how there name would sound as President of the United States. My boys are Steven Douglas and Scott Elgin(family name). I just can't imagine a president named Deacon, but then there was Jimmy Carter. Deacon sounds to me like a religious name, not like a biblical name like Luke, Adam, Matthew, more like a Deacon in a church. I think he may have problem in his early grades of school being teased about his name, later I think he will develop a nickname. Only my opinion. Personally I can't see Deacon being masculine, "I want you to meet my husband Deacon" doesn't sound masculine to me.
I am sure whatever you choose will be fine. I feel bad knocking your name but you did ask for opinions. Much luck to you all!♥♥

How about Nolan. We had a baby boy 5 months ago and named him Nolan. We think its unique with a little bit of class and style.

Just don't have a middle name like Ryan. :P
