My husband wants to spell it Atom but i think that is a little silly and works better for a nickname so we have agreed on Adam but are at a loss so far for a middle name. Our last name is two syllables and starts with a B

As I was growing up, I was the only Grace, I still dont see many that are around my age. I see it being used a lot though for babies. I think its funny how names go in and out of fashion.

I am thinking of the name Kieran for my newborn son. I have always had a thing for that name. I'd love to get some feedback from others. To anyone who has named their son Kieran- do people have much difficulty with pronouncation? Thanks to all who reply. Kieran's mom (potentially)

Alyx? I like it and think it is cute...how about Alyson(Ally) or Aubry spelled Awbrie? I also need some alternate spellings for Eric and if you have any other alternate spellings for these names (besides the ususal ones) I will appreciate it.

What do you think of Alizabeth? It seems that everyone pronounces Elizabeth that way anyway.

I live in Australia and NOBODY give their twins matching names like 'Sharon and Karen' or 'Brodie and Jodie'. I rarely even hear of same initial twin names, like 'Alison and Anthony' or 'David and Danielle'.

Where do you live?
Are 'matching' twin names common where you live?
Do you think they're cute or cheesy?

THANKS!

I was named after the song (of course) Shannon by Henry Gross. I wonder just how many other people were named after this song.

Baby girl names?
My friend is pregnant. If the baby is a boy then he will be named after his father. If the baby is a girl then she is considering naming her Logan or Hunter. Are these good names for a girl and if not what is good names? I told my friend that I will post this question and let her read the replies in a day or two.I have never heard of girls named Logan or Hunter.Although no one can tell her what not to name her baby,a few has told her not to name the baby the names she picked out.We just dont want the baby to be a girl and end up with a boys name. Her other 2 daughters names is Megan Marie and Kelly Nichole.

I want to name my daughter Harley. It is a dedication to my mom...long story short, she loves Harley's and feels so free on them, etc. I am the same way as well. As our saying goes, "Live to Ride. Ride to Live." I thought that the Grace added a feminine twist to it...do you like? Do you have any other one-syllable middle names to go with Harley? THANKS!

I've noticed that alot of people under the baby names catagory tend to dislike non American or unique names. Even when someone ask for a unique name, they are given suggestions that are sure to be found on the top 100 list. What is the appeal of a name that is sure to be shared by 2 or 3 classmates when the child gets older? Why are some people hesitant to give names from different ethnic backrounds? For example, I am not of Arabic origin, but my name happens to be Tahira, which is Arabic for 'Pure'. I have always LOVED having such a unique, yet beautiful name. So much so that I named my daughter Amira, which is Arabic for 'Princess'.

So I ask you, what do you think of Amira and Tahira as names for an American girl?

I plan to name my baby girl Anna, but I've also started to like the spelling Ana..
And now I'm having such a hard time deciding between the two!

Which do you like better, and why??

(any suggestions for middle names that you think sound good w/ Anna or Ana would help me out a lot too!)

thanks!
