I have a friend with a son named Keeran (spelled different but sounds same) I think it's a great name!! He's four and it totally suits him, he's a little charmer. Go for it if you like it; it's not that hard to pronounce and even if it ends up being that way, he'll be unique.

I can think of about 10 different ways to pronounce that name without going back to my anthropology of linguistics phoenetics charts. Oh and that name can be spelled about just as many different ways. I understand you like the name, but do you really want your son to have to constantly correct teachers (substitutes), future employers and other people on how to correctly spell and pronounce his name? Especially when it will likely get him into trouble or cost him a job opportunity to do so. Either that or he will get so used to people calling him the wrong thing or spelling his name incorrectly that he will lose a part of his identity and have self esteem issues for it. Mispellings often lead to mixed up and missing paperwork at school, medical records, etc.
Take it from someone whose name can be either gender, but who has it spelled the typical "boy" way. I was named after my mom's best friend whose mother spelled it the same way, but I can't even begin to count the number of times my name has been spelled with a "y" instead of an "i" and the even greater number of times in which places/people were expecting to see a boy when they called my name.

Its Okay But i prefer Kyran. It Would Suit a baby more because for some reason i cant imagine a baby name kieran.
Kieran seems more like an adult name or a teenagers name.
Kyran is a little cuter, Where as Kieran makes me think of a big hard gangster not a tiny little cute baby,
Hope This helps..x
Let us no what you decide on..x

I am on the fence. I have come across little boys named this and it always takes a few explanations from the parents on how to pronounce it but it is a "legit" name. I do agree w one person who said they found it sort of "gay". I have seen this name used for girls a lot lately - another victim of the trend of people putting boys names on girls. My brother is 35 and he is named Casey, when he was born it was a boys name however its has now flipped and is more a girls name and because of this he hates it. To avoid this happening to your son put it in the middle and give him a name that hopefully the "mommeighs" wont steal (there are now babies girls named Ryan & Jacob so choose carefully) but call him Keiren and then let him choose what he prefers to go by when he is older (school age).

Oh, I LOOOOOVE it. heavily! Ronan is taken into consideration one of my time-honored Irish names- it is so handsome and an prolonged time so nicely. Stuart is rather masculine and handsome additionally. Colby James does not be my p.c.. inspite of the undeniable fact that it's not undesirable! i like James, in basic terms not so prepared on Colby yet a minimum of you spelled it appropriate and used it on the spectacular gender that's greater effective than could be stated for people. Ronan is an staggering call. P.S you will get pencils, mugs etc personalised certainly these days so because it rather is this sort of stupid argument against a acceptance!! And in case you ever come here to eire then there will be a lot of stuff with Ronan written on it ;)

Kieran is a great name. People probably will have problems pronouncing it.. but that's better than giving your child an ordinary name that multiple kids in his class have.

How do you pronounce it?...and does that answer your question. :) When it all comes down to it, you name your baby what you like. You're the one who's going to say it a thousand times a day, and hear it a million more. My son's name is Julian, and ppl constantly say "she" and "her." But i love the name, and that's what matters. Whether you name him Kieran, Bob, or Justin, he's going to hate it b/c that's what kids do. :)
