Secretary of Defense

FEMA

And why does he give them his unwavering support?

If somebody doesn't have a clue in the real world, doesn't the employer have the responsibility to say "your fired"?

Doesn't Bush want to look "strong"?

He needs to begin firing people then. If he starts with Cheney and himself, all the better!

Thanks to Clinton, we now have North Korea to deal with. Did you know that Clinton sold them Nuclear powerTechnology back in the 90's which is now being used to create nuclear weapons? If you didn't, do some studying and find out for yourself. Did Clinton mean to do this? I don't think so, but we have learned that an administration's policy can take years to see whether or not it was good or bad. A lot of people on both sides need to chill a little.

NEW YORK - Some states have enacted laws that make it harder to vote instead of correcting ballot problems that have plagued various parts of the country since the 2000 election, according to a study released Thursday.

Describing their findings as "troubling," voting reform advocates sampled 10 states with past election difficulties. Especially worrisome, the report said, were laws passed by a handful of states, including Arizona and Georgia, that require a government-issued photo identification card and proof of citizenship before being allowed to vote.

Though both state laws were later blocked by judges, "the damage has already been done," confusing would-be voters and severely hampering voter registration drives, said Tova Wang of The Century Foundation think tank, which conducted the survey with Common Cause and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.

Also troublesome was a lack of electronic voting policies that could make voting lines in the upcoming midterm contest even longer than those in 2004, according to the survey.

Such delays especially affected Ohio, where people waited hours because of problems with computerized voting.

The study found that the problems with electronic voting were not just malfunctioning machines, but also the lack of available machines. "There were long lines because there were inequitably distributed voting machines," Wang said. Since 2004, most states have only vague guidelines. Florida and Washington, for example, have no formula for determining the number of voting machines in each precinct, the study said.

After the 2004 debacle in Ohio, a law was passed mandating one machine for every 175 registered voters. But it is not enforceable until 2013.

The study contained some good news. Many states have aggressively recruited young people to serve as poll workers — an effort to correct poorly staffed precincts and aging volunteers not familiar with new electronic technology.

But overall, of the studied states, "none have come close to addressing in full the major problems that plagued the system during the last federal election," the survey concluded.

The states were Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wisconsin.

The Star Spangled banner is an awful song about our flag. The melody is awful and it is very awkward to sing.
"America the Beautiful" is a lovely song and is actually about the United States!! Not just the darn flag!! Who's with me!?!? Write your congressperson!!

are there statistics that evaluate the amount that the war generates in our economy...

Republicans say that the reveune is generated by tax cuts... which some probably is... but I also think that the war generates a HUGE amount of revenue... so basically what I'm asking is... how do you tell what is actually driving the economy... and how much of an affect is each having?

are there any studies that look at this issue?

I'm looking for facts and cites... you can state your opinion.. but I already know what most opinions on the issue are already...

The ppl next to my apt building have been either evicted or imprisoned for drugs or something (they always had 10-12 cars show up throughout the day for 10-15 mins), and the cops came one day and the next ppl were moving stuff out. So they're definitely out bc we haven't seen cars or the old tenants sitting on their porch.

They put a lot of stuff on the side of the road for garbage and have 2 big screen tv's on their porch w/the electrical socket cut off. My mom said that someone did that so that no one would take them bc not many ppl know how to fix it. Also, she said drug dealers wouldn't have 2 tv's in the house if they didn't work.

We did pick up a bag of clothes from Macy's that was on the side of the road.

Is it ok to take these tv's? Is this trespassing or what? I feel like a bum but I'd like to have a big screen for free.

I brought a pack of steak from tha butcher that was maranated & when I opened it at home I saw under the maranaide it was rotten meat, it was compleetly brown/black. Then I discovered it had a toung mixed in the marinade to disguise it so I would eat it, like some sort of sick joke.
I rang tha butcher & he said if I bring it back he will give me a new steak and an appology but, what tha ***? this is a fukn' joke. Should I demand more (what?) I mean at least he should deliver me that sh!t so I don't have to drive. What do you think? should I take this to the local media if he dosn't fix me up good?. Its the most discracefull thing ive ever brought.
