Right now there is a big debate whether our president has the right to tap into phone, email and other mediums to thwart terrorist activities in order to prevent another 9/11 disaster, would you give up some of your freedom of privacy to allow this?

Granted this is a sad story and I do feel very bad for his loss. BUT he thought it was "imprudent" to move his mother when the city called a mandatory evacuation!!! He waited until his house was flooded and then proceeded to move his mother. I don't think anyone should be accountable for her death because first off, she was old. Secondly if he would have followed the mandatory evacuation she may still be alive.

Does anyone else agree or do you think he has a valid arugement? I am not trying to be coldhearted. I just feel this case is unjustified because of HIS lack of reaction and NOT the governments But I do believe that were a lot of lives lost due to slow reaction of the government during Katrina, but if you didn't take necessary precautions as warned how can you blame someone else for your mistake...

I don't have medical insurance, so if I have a heart attack or choke on a weeble, the hospital will lock me out and just let me die in the parking lot, why won't the government give everyone free healthcare, do they just want poor people to die in waiting rooms?

Did anybody other then me realize the movie three kings was about exactly what is going on in Iraq. in the movie we went over to Iraq because they was fighting with Iran and we was therer only to set a peace treaty and help them gain there freedom. hmmmm sounds like what is going on right now doesn't it? The movie shows that there was curruption in the army soldiers. hmmm beating up innocent prisoners with flash lights sound just like that. I mean sure the movie Three kings were made in 1999 and we went to war 2001 but there are still the similarities which is really close to each other, also in "Three Kings" America went to Iraq because of terrorism but our Congress and senate said we are only there to set peace and give control back to the government, hmm Exactly what bush said we are going to iraq for but to give them Diplomacy but they still rebelled and killed our Troops for a Cause we shouldn't be involved in , So the real question do movies affect our way of life based on this?

Scenario: Special forces troops in Afghanistan are observing a known terrorist. They tap his telephone. The terrorist picks up the phone and dials a number. After a couple seconds, the call connects to a number in Pakistan. The spec ops listen and gather valuable intelligence. The terrorist hangs up and calls another number. After a couple seconds, the call connects to a number in the U.S. What should the spec ops do:

1. Continue monitoring the call and gathering intelligence on the U.S. citizen that answered the phone (without a warrant).

2. Stop monitoring the call, call the FISA court, wait a few hours for a warrant.

Heres a clue: one of the option leads to terrorist being arrested. The other option leads to a nuke going off in New York and the deaths of hundreds of thousands. Choose wisely.
