A VERY long time, with no hassles, better standard of living(no thieves, fiddlers etc. in power). Only problem, no-one to take the blame.

Much better if the House of Commons and it's 659 members was dissolved and replaced by an English parliament with 100 members. In common with Scotland, Wales should also have a parliament.
The House of Lords should also be dissolved as it is an undemocratic un-elected chamber. It should be replaced by a Federal government where the members of the elected European parliament would sit in order to deal with international affairs that would concern what would be the British Federation.
There is little doubt that if such a constitution had existed before the war in Iraq there would have been no possibility of our country becoming involved in wars which are not of our making or concern.
Consider the money taxpayers would save without the time wasting tactics of the present body of self seekers!

The politicians we have now are crap. Theres a terror plot and the PM is on holiday and refuses to return, our deputy PM is no where to be seen and the home secretary is running the country. Labour is a waste of time, Conservatives want more money for the rich and sod the poor, and the lib dems have the right idea but are too all over the place to get it together. All in all we are stuffed.

By truth. Your question only seems to be a simple. Its rather very dificult and cmplicated. I would say we should make an experiment in real circumstances, but the problem is that the result would be farer of what you would like to see and more unable to try than refused by people. The way of governing changed much in social evolution. Now we have politicians - people elected to rule us by a support of constitution and other law. We can influance them as electors and public opinion but it works rather pathetic. Democracy form of governing has changed efficiency of good leaders or disaster of bad leaders into society hapiness from control over weak government build lastly from best liers and people out of understanding of citizens needs. "Democracy" is a trap. Government wont give us a chance to vote for other way of governing and over law they are working on. "No government" is not aceptable because it meens no control of army, policy, health-resort, transport and whole political situation. It will almost destroy centuries of society and political evolution. I mean coming back to begining of civilisation. Country without government is a free place, but free not only from rule but also from government care.

There are so many foreigners in this country now who are trying to take over the running of the country that it wont be long before we find out. I dont know how old you are so you may not remember what Enoch Powell said.
IT'S ALL COMING TRUE.

The country would survive as the military would take over. There would be a lot of bloodshed as their style of living would not be acceptable to the majority. This dissent would be forcibly crushed,as the military fight to resolve disputes not argue. To survive comfortably you would have to say and be a yessir/mam person.
