I know embassies are considered part of their respective country, but is it the same with consulates? And is the physical earth part of the sovereign state, or is it just the people in that area?

One is my b irth certificate and the other is my birth abroad certificate, stating that I am a U.S. citizen who was born out of the States. I have a friend in Syria that I am corresponding with through E-mails. She has given me her postal adress. I would like to perhaps send her things, little trinkets that might be a fun way to exchange culture. But I dont know if this is allowed and I dont know if she will have problems with her government by receiving regular mail from the U.S? Anyone have any insight? Especially anyone living in an arab country?

I am married to an Irish citizen, who became an American citizen several years ago so he holds duel citizenship. We have a married daughter who lives in Ireland with our four grandchildren and her husband is also Irish. We travel to Ireland three times a year. My husbands entire family is still there. I live in US, had two Irish grandmothers, Eleanor Murphy and Susan O'Neill who were both left as orphans when they arrived in the states. There is no records that I can find on either one of these women including birth dates, etc. I would like duel citizenship but need to know if I qualify.
