McCain is too unstable, and Romney is a religious extremist. Giuliani did an excellent job demonstrating his leadership abilities after 9/11 (unlike Billary, who did and said nothing), and I think that he might be the best choice for the Republican nomination.

When only two candidates are running in an election, I would guess that all voting systems would be equivalent, but I have seen examples in which if there are several candidates, different candidates can win depending on the voting scheme. Would we be better served with a different voting scheme in the US primaries?

For example, in one scheme, everyone might have a yes vot e and a no vote, then each candidates vote total would be the yes's minus the no's. Who do you predict would win each party's nomination given that system?

What is each person could cast a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd vote? They might all be weighted equally, or perhaps the 1st would be worth 3 points, the 2nd 2 points, and the 3rd 1 point. Who do you predict would win the nominations under this scheme?

Thank you very much for your replies!!! I am quite curious to see what people think!

A short while back, many conservatives attacked the Democratic candidates for not participating in a Fox News debate, saying the candidates were "too scared." I'm wondering if they see the Republican front-runners' non-attendance at the long scheduled debate at Morgan State University the same way?

I have never liked ANY politician, but given the state of our country as it is now, I believe that Ron Paul is the ONLY presidential candidate with the integrity, will, and independence to veer us off our course of global imperialism and subsequent self destruction.

If you have not heard of him, please - Just watch him speak and read some of his stances on the relevant issues. He is NOT your average politician - He is unapproachable by special interests because his sole concern is the good of the nation and it's people, and his voting record backs up his stance on Constitutional support 100%.

Hillary Clinton is such a horrible person. She is mean, rude, a liar, and she will drive our country straight into the ground. After what her husband did, why would anybody consider voting for her? "Because she is a woman" is a lame answer. She will promise to do a bunch of stuff but then she will get into office and go back on her word and do whatever she wants to do. If we bring our troops home, the terrorism from the middle East will follow us home. Then what will she do? Blame it on the Republicans, just like all liberals do when something goes wrong. If you live in Michigan, you know what I am talking about with Granholm.

Looking for answers that explain why you think a certain candidate will win the nomination, not who you personally like or dislike. Example I like Fred T. but I think John McCain will emerge as the front runner.

I am very interested in Dennis Kocinich for Dem nomination for president. He is very anti large corporation control of this country. He is a congressman from Oh. who used to be mayor of Cleveland. While mayor large corporate interests tried to take over the public utility. He fought the takeover and won, but in the process banks and corporate interests drove him out of office. He then became a congressman. I agree with all of his views, his platform does not seem to be controlled by big money, corporate interest like most of the others. His health care plan call for not for profit medical care, which is I think the only way we will get quality health care for everyone. He does not get media attention, and we all complain that the media picks the candidates. Go to dennis4president.com and check him out, this guy is what we need.

FDR - Happy Days Are Here Again. This was the song for FDR when he was running for President. What song would you recommend for Hillary's campaign? Chris Matthews mentioned this on TV today.
