about 30-35 seconds. This ex-CIA agent lasted only 5 seconds. He says its torture. Then he goes on to say that the information obtained from the al queda figure has saved lots of lives? The information allowed the government to disrupt terrorists attacks. Why would he want to stop waterboarding? If they will tell you anything you want, why not? They deserve it in my opinion. Your thoughts?

Last I heard, the USA is NOT a theocracy. Much of the Middle East is, and that's supposedly what Bush et al are trying to eliminate by killing a good part of their population-- in order to "being in democracy" that is. Do we REALLY want to model our government after radical Islam? Some say that radical Christianity is the road to happiness. What say you? Thanks.

There is very few Companies that offer shifts that fit around school, most are very family unfriendly. what about summer holidays and term breaks what happens then?
I think they are targeting the wrong people here what about all the druggies and the alchies on the sick they should be targeted first they can quite easily work if they were forced to stop their habit. Why encourage a druggie to take the drugs? would it not be more prudent to give them nothing and make them work!

Your opinions please.

As a trade union representative I believe that every worker should have the right to take industrial action as a last resort,
however we are talking about the police force and the possible consequences of strikes could be.......???????

Waterboarding is simulated drowning, and many people call it torture. Do you think they should ban for suspected terrorist interrogations?

The inquiry into the behavior of the CIA could be cut extremely short if we were to submit the top officials to their own enhanced interrogation methods. According to the CIA, "water boarding technique lasted an average of 14 seconds before caving in". Imagine how much time and resources could be saved if they were put through these same 'non-torture' techniques. The CIA officials themselves should not object to this type of questioning since i'm sure that they would not do unto others what they would not have done to them.

If she was a man, do you think the jury would have found her guilty because she started drinking after her husbands death?

Her story was on 48 Hours this week, they did a great presentation. Did you see it? They still have a recap of the show here

She has been granted a retrial.

A short sharp shock should be delivered to discourage them, not a soft option to ease them into crime.
This government is failing the people on issues of crime.
Trying to keep empty places in prison is not a valid reason for a teenage thug to go happy slapping and get off by writing a letter to the victim.
Only for a first offence??? How many times have we seen thugs being given yet another last chance? It's a joke.
I firmly believe that this government is a waste of our money.

Lambasting other people when I have faults and foibles of my own?

I mean take the McCanns. Ive been a big critic and people have told me to take a look at my own life before I criticize. So I did just that and realised that:

a) I havent left my son to his own devices while getting drunk with friends.

b) Havent turned a tragic affair into a big circus in which family and friends get rich off the back of a missing child.

So from that point of view I probably do have a long way to go before the bad things in my life comes anywhere close to matching those of the McCanns.

;)

I'm stunned by this - wouldn't you want to ensure your child was protected and safe, and do everything you could to make your death 'easy' and understandable for them, rather than killing yourself and taking your child with you?

I personally think I would go mad being a stay at home mum, but I only work part time so I get the best of both worlds

Would you be happier staying at home or do you prefer to work as well as being a parent?

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22914249-421,00.html

In summary, a woman who was a meth addict killed her infant baby, in addition to the actual killing the baby was found to have had previous injuries including 11 broken ribs and fractures to her ankles.

But do you know what she did? She tried to blame her 7 year old son for the bite marks discovered on the babys body before overwhelming evidence convinced her to come clean.

Then just to top it off, this womans father came out of court to say:

"No, it is not fair, but life is not fair - she is a good person," Mr Christensen said."

I mean WTF???? His daughter killed and not only that but abused for her entire life, his granddaughter and yet she is still a good person?

This whole family needs locking up. I hope the stories of what goes on in prison to child killers is true, cause this woman needs a severe seeing to. It will be a hell of a smaller punishment than what her daughter ended up getting.
