Ban Ki-Moon takes office in the UN. He says that Darfur is on top of his priorities. I really hope that he can end the genocide, and I believe that he can. What does the Yahoo! Answers community think, is this problem solved?

I wish, obviously that the proceedings had gone in a more dignified way, but, nevertheless, he was given justice that thousands of people he killed were not," Bush said after talks with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.


"My personal reaction ... is that Saddam Hussein was given a trial that he was unwilling to give the thousands of people he killed," said the president.


"We expect there to be a full investigation of what took place," he stressed.

Republican Senator Sue Collins is reported to be upset that Bush is trying to get away with this, after Bush attached a statement to her postal protection law. Bush's illegal activiy is not what the Republican Senator intended with her postal bill, and she wants to know what Bush is up to and why. Collins responded,

"The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 and our federal criminal rules require prior judicial approval before domestic sealed mail can be searched," she said.

i recently saw a tape of the speech and translation . and it seams more like he was saying that people should live in peace and jews and palistinians should have equal rights and it was time for real demcracy in Isreal . whats going on all this time i thought that he was a real evil basterd has anybody hear him say anything agresive for threatning towards any country or people please show me a link. thank you.

Not to be racist but I think it needs to be said. It just seems that every time I hear about a war the word "Muslims" or "Islam" is mentioned. Examples: Israel vs. Palestinians, Iraq vs. USA, Afganistan vs. USA, Chechnian rebels (muslims) vs. Russia, The Islamic movement vs. Somailia and Etheopia, Darfur, Mogadishu and I'm sure the list continues. Please I don't want to incite hatred or biggets/racists to this forum although I'm sure it's unavoidable. Please answer question with respect.

I don't see why the most respected Muslim leaders were not immediately asked to perhaps film denouncements to be televised on Al-Jazeera pleading for an end to the terrorist attacks. If the Quran is a book of peace then could they not quote it as reasoning for stopping the bloodshed.

Recently, Putin bragged of a new ICBM that he said could get by our anti-missile shields. Today's baby suppossedly put up a French FROG satelite in December, than only now has fallen straight down from the skys in flames, but all over the place, from Riverton WY to Denver, CO according to FOX News, Frts & BS. (A lot of ICMB bases, here...)
This on the day the Commies install Pelosi; and a week since Brown's death, and potential race riots, were thankfully overshadowed by Ford's funeral. The last time Commie missiles fell from the sky, it was on July 4th, and the CHICOM AWACS on 6/6/6. Thank God for Ronald Regean AND Ford??? Massive EMS and energy outages averted?

Specifically speaking of the man who witnessed another man having a seizure fall onto the subway tracks. He jumped down and rolled the guy to the middle of the tracks and laid on top of him while a train went over them. I used to work in NY and took the subways all the time. Even with that drainage ditch between the tracks, it only gives you a little more than 20 inches of clearance. Takes a lot of guts to do what this guy did.
