John Mark Karr, the man who was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand for the 1996 murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, was returned to the United States on Sunday on a Thai Airways flight. While he was surrounded by a member of the Boulder County district attorney's office, a U.S. Embassy official and an agent from Homeland Security and was not allowed to use the plane's bathroom unaccompanied, Karr flew business class and enjoyed a veritable feast, complete with beer and wine. The Associated Press reports that the 41-year-old former school teacher drank a glass of champagne before takeoff and then dined on pate, salad, fried king prawn, steamed rice, broccoli and chocolate cake. The meal was accompanied by a beer (he crushed the empty can with his hands) and a glass of French chardonnay. The airline served three meals on the 15-hour flight. Karr later dined on roast duck with soy sauce and yellow noodles, and had pizza, chocolates and a bottle of Evian for the third meal.
