or will he be smart enough to back down? If Bush gets us into a war with them he will hands down be the worst president in the history of the united states. He will join the infamous world leaders such as Hitler and Stalin and Gengis Khan.
P.S. I have supported Bush for the most part to this point.

The early death of Ken Lay is very likely the result of all the stress associated with a large business failure and all the after market activity in the legal sphere. However, it might be instructive to know what the death rate is for ALL former Enron employees. Most of them not only lost their jobs but thier pensions and life savings. Is there any study of this group that might shed light on the health and early death rate of former Enron employees compred to the general population.

However, unlike Skilling (a co-conspirator), Lay had not filed an appeal and rumors indicated that he would not file an appeal. A "death" at this point clears his name because a death before the the extinction of a criminal appeal period sets aside and permanently vacates the conviction. Obviously he was not currently imprisoned, so by "dying" now, he also avoid pmita prison time. Therefore, this was the perfect opportunity in time for him to "die."

Finally - motive. One motive for his "death" is that it makes it more likely to for his family and "widow" to retain the family fortune.
