Infinite growth on a planet with finite resources is a bad thing.

Not yet. Overpopulation is occuring in some areas, but we wont experience its greatest effects until 50 to 100 years from now. The human population has never decreased faster than it has grown and that WILL stop at some point. If we had infinite resources there would be no concern, but with gas prices running so high, global warming, poverty, and other major human crisises occuring, we are guaranteed to top off the human population 'bell curve' pretty soon.

No... global warming is the greatest threat. Once the glaciers melt and slowly start flooding the coast - overpopulation will be the least of our worries.

Well not all humans are dangerous to the health of the earth, but alot of them just dont seem to really care. Like the poeple who throw their trash out the windows as they drive by.

Yes AND no. We do have limited resources, but science is finding ways to create more with what we do have.

As for overpopulation, I don't see that as an issue. Many countries (including the US, if you think about it) are sparsely populated. There are many wide open spaces out there for the population to grow.

Furthermore, in many Western (and Westernized) societies, family size is shrinking and birth rates are declining. Plus, sadly, it looks like Africa is going to experience a downturn in population with the AIDS crisis there. I feel like the earth may be experiencing a population peak soon.

I dont think so because there is always people migrating back and forth so that it only looks overpopulated. A big reason people say that is because we only say a region is overpopulated when it is of interest. I say this because no one is dying to live in Africa, and whats Africas population again?....oh yeah about 1/5 of the U.S's.

No. There is no such thing, as overpopulation. In fact, some nations are experiencing such a low birth-rate, they are encouraging people to have children.
There aren't too many people, only too many evil people.
