Well it doesn't really make much sense. Many legal items cause more death and destruction- cigarettes and guns, for example. Alcohol is linked to so much death and trauma in society as to make the little weed insignificant in any comparative analysis.

No drug should be against the law. It is impossible to enforce any prohibition legislation against anything. We have a huge bureaucracy of overpaid folks fighting the drug war. The prisons are so full of drug offenders that there is not enough room for violent offenders. A huge amount of crime is related to the sale of drugs. Drugs should be legal and sold to adults in liquor stores at a mark up similar to liquor. No one ever had a drive by over a can of bud. As far as some people wrecking their lives with drugs. They do that now and one can think of it as evolution in action.

I no longer put anything in my lungs purposely except the smell of good food. But I think marijuana and all drugs, for that matter, should be legalized, regulated and taxed. That would reduce the spending on the DEA and police force activities and bring in government income, 'cos no one has been able to stop drug use, might as well tax the hell out of it to support halfway homes and treatment facilities. Oh and it would reduce gang violence too.

i do think it effects different people in different ways and that's probably why it's illegal, some people just can't handle it, but the same goes for alchohol.

consider this, it is a plant that grows from god's earth, it is not man-made,like all this other crap. the only reason why it's illegal is because uncle sam can't tax it, in other words it can't be no worse than nicotine.we can use it,so therefore we should be able to smoke weed.(only my opinion)...
