Within hours of Madeleines disappearance the McCanns began making calls to their family and friends to inform them of the "abduction". They told these friends that the shutters on the window had been jemmied and that the doors to the apartment had been locked. These friends when speaking to the press drove this point home to the reporters, four independant people repeating what they had been told by the McCanns. Later, when the PJ revealed that there was no sign of a break in the McCanns changed their story and said that the doors had been left open. Why did the McCanns lie to their friends? The USA has imprisoned men in Guantanamo concentration camp for 5 years without charging them with any crime, and now has decided to release some, 4 of whom are British.

How can any civilised nation lock and man or woman up for 5 years for no reason at all, is it not a modern travesty that future generations of Americans will hang their head in shame and want to put behind them ?

I'm living in Germany and at the moment I can't speak very good German so need to find a radio station which broadcasts the fight on the internet in English. I normally listen to Radio 5 Live from the BBC but if you are not in the UK, you can't get the live stuff. I can't watch it as I don't have a TV here so can someone recommend a internet broadcasting radio station??

Reporters have focused on DP's lawyer, Joel Brodsky and have found that:
Among other incidents, they found several police reports over the years, including three domestic calls, one involving a SWAT team responding to Brodsky's Wilmette home.

According to a report of the Sept. 2, 2002, incident involving a "suicidal person," Brodsky's wife, Elizabeth Brodsky, told police "Joel Brodsky was in the house armed with a shotgun."

He had gone to his car to get a shotgun, police said. Elizabeth Brodsky "screamed at [her daughters] to get their shoes and leave now," the report said. "Mr. Brodsky exclaimed, 'That's right. You leave, get out of here, now I'm going to do it right and blow my head off with this shotgun.'"

No one was arrested.

In 2004, an Illinois disciplinary board suspended Brodsky's law license for three months after he signed a dead man's name to close the inactive bank account of a client's estate, public records show. Brodsky signed the dead man's name

Don't you think they are lean towards senssationalism and tabloid journalism?

I watch Nancy Grace but I take her info with a grain of salt.

One time she contacted me to do an interview about a missing pregnant woman in the area (who later turned up dead, killed, cut up, burned and dumped in the river. Her husband and girlfriend did it. They were in their mid 20's) and I refused. I am a business owner and thought it was in my best interests not to go on her show.

What is your opinion of these 2 shows?

I want to know what the majority says...I personaly can't stand her because she is rude towards guests which is something we don't tolerate in my family. If you have a guest be it on tv show or otherwise you should always treat them politely and with respect. If you get in a heated discusion and you believe in what you are saying you should be able to discuss it calmly and not sound like you are shouting at the person and you should never interrupt people as they're talking. That's what I was taught anyway.
Anyone else feel differently or feel the same as I do about not liking her?

so many people get angry about sports players gambling on a game.....

How is it that more people aren't irate about the fact, that many people who are directly involved with this war on terror, are profiting from it?

People within Halliburton, the oil industry, hired mercenaries and many other people are taking untold billions from American taxpayers as a DIRECT profit from this war in which our soldiers are dying?

I truly don't understand this. Maybe people just don't make that connection?

I belive that if every one had a gun in this country, the shootings would go way down, i mean, when these people go into public places and open fire, they knows that more than likely no one else has a gun, but i'd bet that if they knew everyone else had a gun, they would think twice about it because they would maybe shoot one or two people before being shot.... what do u think???

I know Late Night on NBC is airing re-runs due to a writer's strike. That's all I've heard. Can someone fill me in on why they're on strike, when it started, which shows are being affected? Is there a site or report on this I can read anywhere? What's happening. I'm saddened, any predictions on how long it will last too?
