Thanks trancebabe for giving the link to the best commentary I've read so far on the McCann mystery. If anyone is in any doubt as to the importance of the inconsistencies in this case, I recommend them to view this. It is quite clear that the McCanns and their friends have told a series of lies. Is it because they are ashamed of the extent of their neglect, or is it something worse? I have a horrible feeling we will never know the truth.

Good link.
" Within hours of Madeleine's disappearance the McCanns began making calls to their family and friends to inform them of the "abduction"
the first thing that would occur tome would be to call the police not family and friends. You call family and friends when you are the subject some great news. Desperation would trigger POLICE not fam & friends.
When people re guilty of a crime they resort to LIES ! Human nature !
That link and what you have said only shows that the McCanns are hiding something that's crucial and no doubt that's why the PJ-GNR are not relenting.

" elsie191..." I agree fully with elsie191... they had no idea how big the sory would be. Moreover, they, T9 and K&G were sloshed, drunk, when they planned the whole story up. When sober the next day, the lie had to continue at all costs or else their medical careers would all come to an abrupt end. THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. I think in Mexico they would call that "desperados"

Well, if Madeleine was abducted, either the apartment had to have been broken into or one of the doors left unlocked. The McCanns may have told family and friends this convenient little lie, but once it became clear the metal window cover had not been jemmied they had no recourse but to say they'd left the patio door unlocked. Better to take the flak for being stupid than to take the punishment for being responsible for your daughter's death. JMHO

There are a lot of anomalies around this case, not just in what the parents have said. PJ tell us they have DNA evidence then they dont, they send it over here and our bods say it is too contaminated to to be worthy of evidence. So it goes on.... As to your Q about the windows being jemmied, maybe in the heat of the moment they were too ashamed to admit that they had left the doors unlocked. In a state of panic they would not have been thinking ahead to the implications.
Whatever happened it is a tragedy, if the McCanns are innocent their feelings of guilt and grief must be beyond our imaginings. If they are guilty they will eventually be found out. All the speculation makes no difference to the fate of this child. Personally, I hope that the parents did do it, accidentally or otherwise, because the alternatives are too horrible to contemplate. If we cannot bear to think of it, imagine what they are going through. I just wish there was a conclusion one way or another.

The way people lie is extraordinary, i.e. the recent case of the couple, where the husband was supposedly lost for 5 years and then returned. The wife knew all along.
You can hardly blame the general public, if we all end up a little cynical at the goings on.
The whole of the public are hard to fool all the time and when people smell a rat they start looking at the sewers.

Good question trance and great link.
I think they initially lied to get themselves out of the hole they had created and then had to lie again when they realised the Police were on to them and that their fabricated story just wasn't going to wash! All these people seem to know how to do is lie and their cronies are as bad as them by helping to cover for them. It is quite clear to the educated mind that this story is in fact a story and that nothing rings true. How they are not already behind bars is hard to believe! They have done nothing but to convince me that they are guilty and they should be utterly ashamed for the barefaced corruption that they have created and allowed...

Hi I think Trish Cameron first came out with this didn't she? Obviously a distraction from the truth, which we now know they lied, as they admitted it, saying they were embarrassed to have left the children alone.
I liked the link, BTW never seen that one before.

Who knows, there have been so many lies told - mainly by the parents, that I just don't know what to think anymore. What I do believe though, is if the parents are totally innocent, there wouldn't be any need for them, or their friends, to tell anything but the truth.
