The head of MI5 has said he will not support the detention of terror suspects beyond 28 days, striking a fresh blow against Gordon Brown's anti-terror plans.

Jonathan Evans told MPs at a private meeting that he was not willing to back the Government's proposal to extend to 42 days the period for which suspected terrorists may be detained without charge.

The Prime Minister is already under pressure on the issue with growing opposition among MPs threatening him with a Commons defeat.

A report by the Home Affairs select committee is expected to cite strong opposition to the plans from senior figures including Sir Ken MacDonald, the Director of Public Prosecutions, and Lord Goldsmith, the former attorney general.

I am tolerant of homosexuals, all races...but I am also tolerant of racist and homophobic viewpoints.

In a recent poll done on african americans, it appears that a large portion of african americans hold racist beleifs toward whites. A renowned black man even publicly stated racist beleifs toward white people in the United States. Furthermore, there are also white racists, but they don't go public as often for fear of being attacked. The double standard.

So if there are racists in this country, should we not protect them both equally as moral viewpoints under the law? as long as the racist does not promote violence, I see no reason why the racist should be attacked. Because he has a different moral value system than us? different views/perceptions?

I think racists should be just as tolerated as homosexuals. I mean, they are equally as controversial. It is well known that the christian right blatantly declares homosexuality an amoral sin.

Racists have equally valid rights.

Here is my theory: Those boys slipped an already drunk girl something to knock her out then abused her and when she didn't wake up they freaked out. Then I think they called the judge that is one of the kid's dads and asked what do to with her. Thinking of their futures and being freaked out, the judge-dad tells them to dump her in the water, because as well all know, Habus Corpus applies. Just my theory.....what's yours? I feel so bad for he friends and family! How awful!!!

The Voice of the White House

Washington, D.C., December 6, 2007: “Some things of interest, perhaps. Is there blame to assess over the failed war in Iraq? Is this futile and destructive struggle the fault of a mentally defective President, egged on by a vicious and unbalance Vice President?

The recent revelation by the U.S. intelligence community that Iran, often put forward by Bush and Cheney as planning to attack everyone with atomic bombs, has been revealed to be utterly false. In spite of these revelations, Bush continues to mumble and rant about his determination to attack Iran. There is an interesting, and frightening, background to all of this non-stop lying and it is not the weak character of George Bush or the manic viciousness of Dick Cheney.

The Pentagon has long been outraged at the piecemeal destruction of both the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps in the meat grinder that Iraq has become. They know who the real culprits are because they have identified them and been reading their top secret messages for two years now.

Are they listening to the White House? No, they are watching Israel like a hawk, reading their top secret diplomatic and military traffic, getting reports almost daily from U.S. intelligence personnel stationed in Israel and they have long ago extended their surveillance to the Israeli diplomatic messaging.

From this, they have built up a massive dossier that shows very clearly that the driving force behind the Iraq invasion and now, the frenzy to attack Iran is purely Israeli.

That country has so subverted our official institutions with money as the carrot and attacks by their almost complete control of the American print and television media as the stick. Israel has used the neo-cons to put forward Israel’s needs to Bush…who listens raptly and obeys without question.

They hated Saddam Hussein because he dared to fire rockets into Israel during the Gulf War and they suggested that if American forces destroyed their enemy, we could all share in the revenues from Iraqi oil. That this plan collapsed is certain but most Americans do not know that the so-called “Yellowcake uranium” story upon which Bush based his war was a pure Israeli invention.

Now, with even the possibility that Iran might be working on an atomic bomb, a bomb which would certainly be used against Israel, that country has doubled and redoubled its clandestine efforts to push America into pulling their chestnuts out of the Mideast fire.

Israel, according to intercepted conversations by the Pentagon (and now circulating in Washington) is prepared to fight to the last American life. And those who mourn the young American dead and mangled soldiers in Iraq do not need to look at the manic and deluded White House but to Tel Aviv who killed and maimed their sons, brothers, fathers and husbands.

In a very true sense, the leaking of the report on the halt in the Iranian atomic development program was a form of very high level mutiny on the part of Bush’s military high command. This was not any kind of an error but a deliberate and hopefully successful, plan to force the United States away from blind obedience to Israel’s murderous wishes.

Droopy Drew Peterson was still married to Savio when he met Stacy. She was just 16 when she met Peterson, her sister Cassandra Cales said. Stacy Peterson was working at SpringHill Suites hotel at the time. Drew Peterson was night commander, and his partner was dating a woman who worked there. Drew Peterson started hitting on her.

Cales said Drew Peterson was still living with Savio but was sleeping in the basement. Stacy Peterson would sneak in and spend the night, she said.

This kid who killed in the Omaha mall wanted fame. He got it! I am sure there are many other sickos out there plotting their future fame. They do not show crazies running out on football fields but will give us a life story of this kid who otherwise would have been unknown.

Does the Government control the media? Do ratings control the media? Can we contact our Congressmen? Should we boycott newspapers and magazines that glorify these morons? Seems like we should be doing SOMETHING!

Maybe someone should sue the media when something like this happens because they encourage it!

One day I didn't really feel like watching the Factor and decided to see what else was on. I found Olbermanns countdown. The whole show was just attacking Bill and FOX News. This is a disgrace for a News show. Also to those who say how come Bill doesn't mention Olbermann by name is because he doesn't want people to turn the channel and watch his stupid show.

I'm completely against the renewed whaling efforts by the Japanese. I thought we had learned enough about the intelligence and social structure of these animals to leave them alone. But I guess not. The Japanese just "gotta have" the most exotic sushi they can get.

That said, in the current climate of anti-terrorism efforts, could the Japanese treat interference by a Greenpeace ship as an act of aggression by a terrorist organization, and if the Japanese Navy was accompanying their whaling ship, would that Navy vessel be within its rights to take any responsive action necessary to defend its ship from terrorists?

In other words, torpedo and sink the ship?

It's really no different than if Al Quaida had a ship and it was attacking other ships at sea. Greenpeace may have better intentions, but their tactics are still an act of terroristic aggression, no less than eco-terrorists who set fire to SUV car lots.

ALL of the serious analyses done by disinterested researchers have concluded that Fox News for the most part presents, at best, a heavily biased and distorted version of current events, and very often outright fabrications and misinformation.
