If simulating drowning can get us the same information as a beheading, sign me up - i'll waterboard every suspected suspect and his mother on national television.
We ARE taking the moral high ground- but we might as well be all-out torturing people given the attitude of the public at large.
It's not a matter of 'democrat' or 'republican' when it comes to terrorism; it's a matter of idealist and realist.
pour it on!

The people who have been telling you Democrats support terrorists have been lying to you.
Of course, anyone with more than one functioning brain cell would have realized they were being lied to.
Every human being on the planet understands that torture is always wrong. It's also illegal.
It doesn't provide information.
It also inspires yet more hate.
Most of the people we've been torturing are not terrorists.
You may aspire to be a terrorist, but no decent human being feels the same.
If you want to become a terrorist, why don't you just join them?

It'snot the fact that we torture that is in question. It is the fact that we torture and swear on a stack of Republicans that we don't. We capture people off the street, some of whom have fewer links to Al Queda than you do and fly then to places where torture is a spectator sport. Then we climb out of the moral hole we have dug to claim the moral high ground. Without the protection of Habeas Corpus they could come and give those same swimming lessons to say---you! And they can do it without charging you with anything and without end. Sound any better?

Torture anyone enough they'll tell you whatever you want whether it's true or not. What purpose does that serve?Honestly it serves only to demonise Americans further throughout this world and the next President of the United states needs to re-instate America as one of the good guys or no one will trust them in future.

"Tourcher" (your word, not mine) is not - and should not be - any part of a civilized society. I don't know what that has to do with Democrats (or Republicans), but I do know this: if we "do anything back", it only serves to reduce us to the same level as our so-called 'enemies'.
That makes us as uncivilized and sub-human as they seem to be. We're supposed to be a Christian society. Christ says, "Turn the other cheek." Why wouldn't we then follow His advice?
If the U.S.A. wishes to remain as a leader of the free world, the U.S.A. must set a higher standard of morality and dignity for itself, regardless of how low our 'enemies' stoop. -RKO- 12/09/07

Democrats want to em-bold our enemies so they can blame it on Bush. Its not about of the people or for the people. Personal ambition is the main agenda. They will wait for a catastrophe and then they want to talk to their enemies so they can get slapped in the face on top that. Oh yes I believe we are better that our enemies. Do we show somebody getting their head chopped off? Lets be tough on them, quit giving them democratic lip service.

NO PROBLEM!!!!!, always remember that we can always hire Sandy Berger to solve the disappearing of those tapes, who better than him???? Berger's expertise and experience is magically disappearing highly classified documents. But of course, they conveniently forgot about it.

Torture is torture. No matter who does it. We hated Sadam for doing it to his people but we do it. How does that make sense?
