I am cosiderably older than the years you are asking about, but, I was pumping gas as a teenager in 1977-78, and gas per gallon was 52.9 cents a gallon. This was the time when the USA could depend on it's own resources for oil. Now the USA depends on European Oil Producing Companies (OPEC). My question is this. Is there a presidential candidate running for office that can fix the Country's problems? I think not.

I am not sure, but I think it hit a low of about 99 cents/gal. I remember it being 27c/gal when I started driving!
