The BBC generally tries to be impartial and presenters often avoid mentioning brands, such as iPod & Playstation, using a generic term instead. Yet, particularly on their radio stations (and related websites), they consistently promote MySpace.

Considering there are many other social networking sites and MySpace is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. (who also own Fox News and Sky, major competitors to the Beeb) this seems very strange.

Surely their reputation of impartiality is more important than any potential increase in audience, especially considering they don't rely on advertising for funding.

Why would the BBC direct people to hand over personal information to News Corp which could then be used to give Sky and Fox News a commercial advantage over the BBC?

When stuff like this starts to happen.

SAO PAULO - Thousands of protesters marched through Brazil's largest city on Thursday calling President Bush a warmonger and planet polluter as he started a tour aimed at winning friends in Latin America. "No. 1 Enemy of Humanity" and "Get out Bush!" read signs carried by workers, students, peasants and other activists. To the beat of Afro-Brazilian drums, they demanded an end to the war in Iraq and what they called state-sponsored torture, U.S. imperialism and growing economic inequality.

Hahaha Go South America! Gotta love that even other countries see how idiotic he is. =)

I'm hearing that in Vermont 30 towns have "filed for the impeachment of Bush". Is this true? They say that there are going to be protests. I heard that the final spark to cause protest was and is being caused by Bush's visit to South America.

Is any of this true? And if it is... Tell me where I can protest for the impeachment of Bush (I'm in Florida, by the way)!!!

Read this article: http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=19905

First of all, do you think that this article holds true? If so, answer these questions.

Lots of people don't want Iran to develop nuclear weapons, and view them as a threat to the entire Middle East region and the world. Israel, which, acording to the article, did not sign the Non-Prolifiration Treaty, has nuclear weapons, and lots of 'em.

Is it possible that Iran and Israel will go to war? Who will be the agressor (the one who attacks first), Iran or Israel? It is true. The IAEA's suspension of atomic aid to Tehran, and the continuing atomic aid to Israel, is a double standard. Both have the potential to cause a deadly conflict. But in my opinion, Israel is the one that poses the most danger.

What do you think? Do you think that Iran and Israel will go to war? If they do, will the United States get involved? Publically or secretly? Who do you think is at fault, Iran, Israel, IAEA, or a combo of some?

Who wins a Presidential election style debate? While I often disagree with Mr. Maher's opinion he isn't no dummy. Take them out of the studio and let them square off in a public forum. Who wins the debate and why? Who wins a national election for President if they were running against each other?

Consider all the journalists who have died in the last ten years. Almost 1,000. More than half----shot. That is NOT accidental. Poisonings, now even two Americans.
Premier Putin was a KGB agent, an upper level member of the Communist party. People who criticized him HAVE been found dead.

I'm just taking a survey, and please give me all of your opinions. Just saying, but the Japanese not only killed a lot of U.S. soldiers, but they killed a lot of South Korean civilians as well.

In one record, a woman was taken in as a comfort woman and was repeatedly raped by two hundred Japanese soldiers in one day. When she died from all that.. you know..., she was repeatedly raped again, even though the Japanese soldiers knew that she was dead. (THIS IS A TRUE STORY)
This all sounds a lot like the Nazis, except with comfort women.

Oh, and for the people who say, "but didn't Japan apologize already?" or "there is no proof of all those crimes," you are sadly mistaken. No, Japan did not apologize properly ("I feel bad" - what kind of an apology is that?), and over 200,000 women were taken as comfort women.
I know that some Japanese are good and not all are bad, but I think South Koreans deserve an apology.

What about you?

I mean, all these people say that we definitely should have gone into Iraq, that Bush is not trying to tear away our rights one by one, hat Muslims are evil and that Israel is killing a bunch of terrorists in Palestine?

All their opinions are based off of either the media or the opinions of soldiers, who are trained to think like their country wants them to think. I mean, look at all those who abusde Iraqis in the prisions? Those people had clearly been taught that Iraqis weredogs and if they had reasoned anything out I am sure all of them would have decided it was wrong.

I think a major issue in the upcoming election(why the hell are we talking about it yet, anyways!) will be whether the government should provide universal health care to all Americans. My question is, isn't it more important that we concentrate on lowering healthcare costs rather than giving everyone health insurance? Regardless of whether the government or a private company is giving you insurance, the hospital bill will be the same. Much of the reason people cannot afford health insurance is because the high cost of medical procedures cause insurance to cost too much. Why doesn't the government treat the cause(health care costs) rather than the symptom(health care insurance)?

By the way, I am not advocating either party's position.

We have started two wars and as far as I can see everyone just hates us more because of them. Maybe there is a reason people want to kill us. Anyone have any speculation on that?
Terrorism is provoked, people don't just get up and say they are going to kill other people. So now us Americans must ask ourselves, what provoked the terrorism against us, and why can we stop it with more hotheaded controversial acts?
You can be safe without starting a war people.
