IS Bill gates right about people spending more time on the Internet/computer and less and less time watching T.V..?

Do you agree with Bill Gates and is it a good thing or a bad idea not to be viewing the T.V. as much as you used to watch T.V. ???

Gates Says Web Will Revolutionize TV

By Ben Hirschler, Reuters

DAVOS, Switzerland (Jan. 27) - The Internet is set to revolutionize television within five years, due to an explosion of online video content and the merging of PCs and TV sets, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates said on Saturday.

I
In the years ahead, more and more viewers will hanker after the flexibility offered by online video and abandon conventional broadcast television, with its fixed program slots and advertisements that interrupt shows, Gates said.

"Certain things like elections or the Olympics really point out how TV is terrible. You have to wait for the guy to talk about the thing you care about or you miss the event and want to go back and see it," he said.

"Internet presentation of these things is vastly superior."

Our St. Louis Post Dispatch ran an article today about Michael Devlin.

http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/stlouiscitycounty/story/69AAD38806C5DDBC862572700022CD5D?OpenDocument

In the article they talk about Shawn's abductor's (Michael Devlin) childhood. But what kicks me is the part when they talk about a period when Michael Devlin was staying with his parents while recovering from diabetes surgery. Who was watching Shawn?

Before you respond, please click and read article part that has heading of "Diabetes and foot pain". Things are coming out locally about this situation that isn't make the national news. This is an example. Did Shawn reach the point where he didn't want to be found?

I mean he got (and still gets) as much media coverage as the Pope or the Queen Mother got when they shuffled off their mortal coils. And what do our troops get for dying in Iraq and Afghanistan? Two sentences on a news bulletin stating that a soldier has been killed, and a further two the following day stating who he or she was and their regiment. And that's it!
This world's gone insane. Enough of the Hammond fella and his ilk already!

The war in Iraq is high on everyone's list...what other topic besides the war should be discussed...

The environment, the economy, golbal warming, health care, immigration, domestic terrorism, the U.N., Africa-Europe-Asia, other... ?

Is the issue of Hurricane Katrina and the response time by F.E.M.A. during times of disaster, an important issue?

Basically, what I am asking....Other than the war in Iraq, which is very important, what other issue should the candidates seeking to become President of the United States, address?

we have caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq as a result of our direct interference with that country.cant we at least acknowlegde that? it may be insurgents but still because of us.it helps so much to absolve the guilt by laying the blame on insurgents doesnt it? What will it take for us to just shut up and accept (like the germans ) what we have done. an invasion of this country from coast to coast?
