We all know these disclaimers when we watch or listen to a sports broadcast. At some point , usually in the 2nd half , we are told "This broadcast cannot be recorded , retrasmitted , or blah blah blah without the EXPRESSED WRITTEN CONSENT of [sports team here] or [league]". Now , why is it necessary for one to waste time writing to , say , the NFL for permission to record Monday Night Football? Can't I just record it on my VCR / TiVo?

The ignorance of broadcasting companies to put out this disclaimer has been mocked in the media , especially in Family Guy. Remember the time Peter Griffin tried to tape Monday Night Football and the FBI came in?

Now , I don't have a degree in broadcast or copyright law , but it seems to me these disclaimers are really useless. Any lawyers out there care to explain why broadcasters waste their time with said disclaimers?

the goverment trying to force people to get medical care.this is for people who are not eligible for medicare and free government help. So the Webster's dictionary definition of a civil war is : A war between opposing groups of citizens (i.e. different religions, dwellings, areas, or class) of the same country. So why does Bush deny that this is a civil war? It clearly is by definition, and before you say anything think it out, I was there, I saw it for what it really is. and thats what saddam did.. he tried takking over the world like america but in his own type of way.... i mean im not trying to take sides with saddam but, thats the point of war.. to kill and take over in your own way... if bin laden got a hold of bush in a not hurtfull way, america would go nuts. even if he was held as a prisoner of war in the kindest way. we have something called soming like POW ACT.. i think... anyways, since saddam is a prisoner of war... should he be protected by these rules? and why should he be hung??? and not bush?
