I have lived in Edinburgh for the past 4 years and I really like it, but have been to Glasgow a few times and I love it. The people, the pubs, the city......................everything is better. Do you agree?

YouTube and Myspace users will need to get a licence if the idiots at the EU get their way.Anyone posting video clips on the internet or sending them via text would need a ridiculous licence for the privilage!!These new EU regulations would even classify personal websites as,I quote,'television-like services'.Just how many websites would this force to close ?Has the EU EVER made a sensible, rational decision in its whole existance? And just who are these people that come up with this crap in the first place? I think they pay someone to sit at a desk all day and come out with the most stupid proposals they can;then pay them a fortune for it.The EU of course, are the ones that told us bananas needed to be grown at a certain angle before they could be sold.I think they are the ones who are bananas. What do you think.

Actually, the oldest brand names are beer breweries...
Budweiser started in 1870.
Many german breweries started in the 1600's, like Becks.

Baker's chocolate is the oldest brand name in the US.
They started making Baker's chocolate in 1765, and it was
the only "brand" name you would see in stores till the mid 1800's.

Van Camp Pork and Bean's is another really old brand, from
1861. Civil war soldiers lived on Van Camp's Pork and Beans
People STILL eat Van Camp's Pork and Beans, and it even has its own website.

http://www.conagrafoods.com/brands/van_camps/index.jsp

I've heard that disgruntled workers at the Van Camp factory
pee in the vats they use for the pork and beans, but I still think
they taste great! :)

Any other old brands you can think of?

Sears, Roebuck is another.....whatever happened to Roebuck?
He seems to have gotten ripped off. He co-established the brand,
and they dropped his name.

The way I see it, a good-looking woman under 30 with a decent
figure is far better off as a call girl.
The "work" is easy, the hours are few, you can sleep late, and
can make over 100 thousand a year......if you can establish
yourself, you can even become a madam.
Compare that to working at Wal-Mart for a middle-aged b i t c h
that watches every move you make, and keeps that boss anal
probe up your butt 24/7.

What would you rather hear?

"Attention Wal-Mart shoppers. We have an underwear sale in aisle
7 right now"

or

"Oh baby, you are sooooo hot...Yeah, just like that!"

Which is better, working at Wal-Mart or turning tricks on the street?

Given the concern over World crude oil production versus consumption, massive trade imbalances, politcal unrest throughout the world and dwindling resources, do you think civilization will survive much longer?

Should a collapse be inevitable, what do you foresee for our future?

The boy was a seventeen year old congressional page, and Studds was in his thirties. Studd was a congressman, and should have had criminal charges brought against him.

Studds recently passed away and Yahoo News now has an article sympathizing with his gay "spouse" because his partner received no death benifits or government pension check. Are articles like these supposed to illicit some type of feeling of compassion or sympathy from American citizens?

I don't feel sorry that same-sex partners are not eligible for thier partners death benefits or health benefits. This is currently not in our law, and hopefully, it never will be. It is not a constitutional right, nor was it ever meant to be one.

I certainly don't feel sorry for Gerry Studds or his "widowed" partner. I can't fathom that he was somehow repeatedly reelected, when obviously he wasn't fulfilling his obligation to public service in Congress, rather, he was receiving "personal services" from underage pages.
