I think that perhaps the parents should have been there. However, if the headlines were that the girl had done what she was in trouble for, everyone would be screaming, why wasn't something done.

You have to take things seriously regardless of the age. These kids who are constantly in the news because they kill or threaten people in schools are around 14 too.

Bottom line is, she never should have done it in the first place.

I think that because it was a "threat" towards the president, that it is justified... I don't know if I believe completely about what she was saying about how they were treating her during questioning though... And I do indeed think that her parents should have been present during the questioning. Because we are in a war time environment, the president and secret services do need to be looking out for things like that... She did remove it later, which was definatly a good idea, but she shouldn't along with anyone else have posted that on there...

As for freedom of speech, which one person put on here about how republicans are trying to take that away... it is not true... especially in this case... your freedom of speech is only your right when it does not inflict on someone else's rights... Research helps...

I think that they were justified in questioning her but I think that they should not have questioned her without an adult present. I guess that most people don't know that it is a federal offense to threaten the President in any shape form or fashion. The Secret Service had no way of knowing whether or not she indeed was an innocent teenager or some wacko with intentions on harming the President.

Yes it IS/WAS justified. Why?
If she is dumb enough to post pictures of the president with threatening messages on Myspace, she deserves to be questioned. I don't like our president either but I have enough respect to not write "KILL BUSH" over his face and post it on a highly trafficked website. I print mine and post them up in the garage to throw darts at. But that's beside the point.
The minimum required age to use Myspace is18. She is 14. She forged documents by agreeing to the terms of service and lied about her age to get an account right? As much as I hate to agree with the government, they are right to check her out.
My prediction is her parents will sue the state, Myspace, the school district, the secret service, Arnold Schwarzenegger, their dog, the neighbor and anyone else they can make relevant to accusing.

i imagine that because it develop right into a "danger" in the route of the president, that that's justified... i do not understand if i trust thoroughly about what she develop into declaring about how they were treating her for the period of wondering though... and that i do certainly imagine that her mom and father might want to were latest in the course of the wondering. because we are in a warfare time surroundings, the president and secret facilities do elect to be searching for such issues as that... She did get rid of it later, which develop into definatly a strong concept, yet she shouldn't alongside with absolutely everyone else have printed that on there... As for freedom of speech, which one man or woman placed on right here about how republicans try to take that away... that's not authentic... distinctly for this reason... your freedom of speech is in hardship-free words your authentic even as it does no longer inflict on some different person's rights... study helps...

NO that is not going too far, not at ALL. Secret Service was totally justified. Totally. She threatened the President's life online!!! She's 14 not 4...she knows better...truly? Anyone who threatens anyone's life?...should always be taken seriously...each and every time. She not only threatened...she promoted his death. That's not disagreeing with war...that's just plain twisted...her mother needs to get her daughter some emotional help if she thinks there is nothing wrong with that.

I don't know that pulling her out of school without her parents was justified but she should not have posted that picture. She did something that would have gotten her at least suspended from school if it was another student, why would you take it less seriously just because it was the president?

It is justified.

How the person is treated by the Secret Service will obviously change based on the age of the person, but no one is above the law.

No, she broke the law. She writes threats against the president, and the nher justification not to be pulled out is that she is a good girl who drew a heart on her notebook ...

YES it was JUSTIFIED, I am so sick and tired of hearing people crying foul because THEY did something wrong and are caught on it. Booo Hoooo they hollered at me. So what, now maybe next time she will make better decisions.
