no because I did once he asked for $1 for a cup of coffee and dunkin donuts was walking distance and I was on my way in so I gave him the $ and asked he wanted a bagel or anything and he said no he wanted a special coffee from another local store.... yea right. I offered to buy this guy breakfast and he took my $ and went to get smashed. How pathetic. I would gladly take any homeless man/woman/ person of any race religion etc to eat a meal but I will never hand over $ again. You never know, but there's usually a reason they are in that position.

No I don't. I remember once I saw one of those people holding a sign asking for money because they were supposedly out of work and homeless. The next day I drove by the same exit ramp again and saw the same person crossing the street with a 12 pack of beer and going to a hotel. I think most of those folks do just that with the money. If a person really wants a job, there are plenty of jobs out there. It might not be the greatest job, but anything is better than nothing.

I don't drive, I walk, so you can imagine how I get botherd. I used to give money to people, every so often. Sometimes it really seemed like I was helping........until I saw a guy go in to a liquor store and buy beer.......and I gave a guy a dollar once, and he came up to me while I was on the phone, and said.... I bet you have more money, and looked right in my purse..I said get the f*** out of here, orl I'll call the police....a disabled, retarded girl asked me for bus fare once, I gave her some change, when she got on the bus, she opened up a huge bag of money, like she had been collecting from everyone. Lately, I am getting so many people asking me for a buck here, a buck there, I am inclined to call the police, because it is against the law here.......and I beginning to feel harrassed. I really don't think these people appreciate anything, they just except everyone to give up their hard earned cash, so they can eternally sit on their butts, and not do a dam thing but, drink, or take drugs.

I have bought flowers or water from some one selling on the exit ramp or stop light. There is something different about selling and begging.

I have stopped and talked to several of them. One or two I have helped. The ones who told me they were Vietnam vets I asked for their MOS and their 7th General Order. It is amazing how that PTSD will make you forget stuff. Them I did not help. I am always willing to talk to any man or woman. I would not recommend stopping alone at night however.
