I live in Reno, Nv (Northern Nevada). I have a landscaped backyard with a flower garden, but I want to make a small vegetable garden that will I will plan and take care of by myself.

I am planning to start it just outside the fence to my backyard. I will be buying live plants instead of seeds. It will not be attached to the drip system that my other plants use (where's the fun in that?)

I plan to research the matter online and check with the nursery for information. I just wanted to also get advice from hobby vegetable gardeners themselves.

Thank you for your time:)

On our local news, there was a man who came up with a combination of ingredients for lawns. It's sounds crazy, but it's been proven to work. beer, ammonia, dishwashing liquid, and one other thing I can't recall. Has anyone heard of this?

Thanks.

The residue seems to appear where previously wet and is feathery light, as it is hard to sweep up. I have scrubbed floor with water and bleach to no avail. It has returned.

The fronds on my Australian Tree fern are curling downward after being planted in a pot. Is it going into shock? or do I need to fertilize? I'm pretty sure there is good drainage, rocks at bottom of pot and I did another Australian tree fern and it's doing fine.

I'm just wondering what type of candles you all prefer? What do you like your candles in? Jars? Free standing? What's your favorite scent for candles? Thanks!!!

then went to turn on few days later. pop sound came from outside unit. had to reset main breaker at main panel. breaker reset but it made another "popping" sound ( sounded like an arcing short coming from outside unit again) main breaker did not trip 2nd time and outside fan is rinning but I dont think the compressor is.
When I'm at outside unit and switch off the disconnect I hear a Hum or buzz sound coming from the outside unit.

I am looking for a good way to clean the inserts that make a sippy cup spillproof. I do not have an automatic dishwasher and do everything by hand. I've got two small kids and they keep me busy, so sometimes the dishes sit for a while until I can get to them. I have trouble getting the inserts cleaned as they get juice and milk dried inside of them where I cannot clean it off by hand.

I removed an old light fitting in my 1980's house porch. As far as I know there is 1 switch that operates one light. There are 5 wires. 1 Black, 1 Red, 1 Earth and 2 grey.
My new light fitting has space for 3 (live, neutral and earth?). What do I need to do with the spare 2 wires? Which wires are which? Does my house need rewiring?
