then went to turn on few days later. pop sound came from outside unit. had to reset main breaker at main panel. breaker reset but it made another "popping" sound ( sounded like an arcing short coming from outside unit again) main breaker did not trip 2nd time and outside fan is rinning but I dont think the compressor is.
When I'm at outside unit and switch off the disconnect I hear a Hum or buzz sound coming from the outside unit.

I know it had been working when technician completed job and my wife was emptying buckets of water from the inside condensate drain (that I hadnt completed runing drain yet)
It was down for a few days cause weather was mild and cool.....when I returned to try it out is when it seemed to short out outside. The buzz can be coming from the theromostat that is run off furnace since its on its own single pase circuit and povides power to the transformer for the stat. I have no idea what happens when the thermostat calls for "cool" and a relay switches on the condenssor.
