I was training... doing some finger push ups. Usually not a big deal, but my fingers slid out, and for a fraction of a second put my body weight on just my thumb. I heard (and felt!) 2 snaps in my thumb, and I thought i may have broken it, but I could move it immediately after the injury. What can i do to lessen the injury and hopefully not make it permanent? I'm possibly getting in to law enforcement, and I don't need my thumb popping out all the time.
Also, I am just assuming I dislocated it. I did not have to put the joint back in to place. The 2 loud snaps may have been it popping out and then immediately back in... I'm not sure. I can move my thumb without too much pain, but it hurts to grip/hold things/ etc. I don't mind the pain, I just want to lessen any damage that may (or may not) have been done.
Any help?
