YES! Ticks can carry lyme disease, and fleas can bite humans (which will itch) and also can carry disease. Fleas and ticks are harmful to dogs and cats and so should be prevented as much as possible.

Fleas and ticks can carry their own parasites, which live in their saliva. These "saliva parasites" are what is dangerous because they can enter your blood stream or access anywhere in your body given time. Lyme disease is one such "saliva parasite" disease. The "Bubonic plague" is another.
Flea bites and tick bites are only a nuisance otherwise.
I live a few minutes away from Lyme, Connecticut, where Lyme disease was first discovered.

Yes, they can carry disease. You can get lime disease from ticks and it was fleas from rats that spread the bubonic plague during the Middle Ages.

yes... the bubonic plage was carried in fleas from rats to humans and certain ticks carry a nasty disease called "rocky mountain spotted fever

ticks for sure can kill you if you dont know signs and symptoms of their disease...fleas also deoending on where they are coming form!!
