I have never thought of that but when I was a kid I swallowed gum all the time. From the age of 16 until now, I'm 29 I have chronic diarrhea, I figured it was just my nerves.

Depends on how much gum you have swallowed. You could be constipated which has caused an obstruction in your bowels which will only allow liquid to pass by the obstruction, You may need to see a DR. The treatment for obstruction is laxatives and/or enemas til clear, but I would see a MD first it could just be a virus.

Not swallowing A piece. Most gum packets have a warning on the back saying 'Excess consumption may have a laxative effect'. So I guess you'd have to swallow a whole lot.

That would be impossible I think to happen. Gum now days is made of substances that will pass on out of the intestines so you need not worry about having any of that left to cause diarrhea.

I have swallowed gum and never suffered chronic diarrhea. But then I had some jalapeños, nachos and alcohol....

Don't think so.
Unless the gum is stuck on wall, and you pull it back into your mouth.
