I have a friend who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her insurance only pays for so much. She has three children and is working as much as she can to make ends meet. Do you know of resources to help? We are looking at a benefit but I was wondering if there are others out there who know of some resources during a time like this? Your help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Genetic testing for breast cancer looks for two mutated genes. Women who have one of these two mutated genes are 60-80% more likely to develop breast cancer in their lives.

The disease Cancer. Is it latin? Does it have anything to do with the zodiac sign? Is it an abbreviation for another word? Why isn't it called "Carcin" for carcinogens?

If one has stage IV cancer [colon cancer with peritoneal and lung metastases] still in a good physical and psychological condition [has been fighting it for two years], but at the very end of his resources, having to rely on his relatives' love and help [just the little bit they can offer], should that one still fight? Or it would be better to give up treatments and accept an earlier death? Wouldn't that be a relief for everyone??

My Mom had Cancer and is recovering from a Bone Marrow Transplant. I have some ideas that I want to express on the subject and I wanted to know what others think of visually when they think of cancer.
Such as a pink ribbon for Breast Cancer... but this is not breast cancer so what image in general do you have in your mind when you think of cancer.....

I have a friend who was 55 years old. She died of lung cancer a year ago. During her last days her children did not feed her or give her any fluids. She asked (she was drugged) for something to drink and her daughter brought her ice chips. She wanted something to drink. This always struck me as weird. Hospice was there on and off during those days. They did not feed her... is this normal? To me, I would give anything to a person I cared about... what ever it was.

Kind of a stupid way of putting it. Im not sure how to ask. My brother had testicular cancer. Spread I believe. He's receiving chemo treatments now. He had the procedure done.. but I dont know what to expect.. What is the most likely scenario.. Will he die.. eventually can this kill him?.. I obviously dont want that to happen.. but I need to know..

About halfway across the right side of my face, below my jaw line, under my skin, I feel something under my skin (not popping out, you can only feel it if you press it hard enough) and It's about the size of a hazelnut, and when you push it, it kind of goes aside.

I have no serious medical history, neither do my parents or grandparents. Thank you for your help!

I'm debating on buying cancer insurance. I am not sure once I get diagnosed with cancer if my insurance will pay for cancer treatment, chemo, etc. I looked on the website and can't find any exclusions for cancer treatment.
