I'm debating on buying cancer insurance. I am not sure once I get diagnosed with cancer if my insurance will pay for cancer treatment, chemo, etc. I looked on the website and can't find any exclusions for cancer treatment.

We have BC/BS and they have covered all cancer treatments for my son, including experimental . . they didn't want to but we insisted. Our policy also has unlimit coverage . . that is the important thing to look at when examining the policy . . make sure there are no life time limits on it for you or members of your family. We are also fortunate to live in a state that requires our insurance company to cover the costs of medical care associated with clinical trials.

Read your BC/BS policy over carefully. One thing that we encountered was resistance to paying for anything considered 'experimental' . . including some surgeries and some chemotherapies. We ended up going to second appeals in all cases and did convince them to pay based on "compassion". Our son has a rare cancer and there are no known treatments .. so almost everything is 'experimental'. But they do pay for them.

Back whilst plenty of those ancient timers began smoking, that they had no thought what the penalties might be. They quite simply didn't have an understanding of the melanoma threat and so on..... Nowdays, every body is aware of what the results of tobbacco abuse is and we nonetheless have the ones dumb asses in the market looking to pontificate that they have got the proper to smoke in the event that they so wish. GET REAL! Smokers are insured they usually rate the persons at the coverage plans who do not smoke dearly to pay for the people who smoke well being care disorders similar to inhalers that rate enormous quantities of bucks and repeated hospitalizations on the grounds that they've respiring disorders and cancers concerning smoking. I believe a people who smoke well being coverage must rate approximately four occasions what a non people who smoke well being coverage rate. Its now not that non people who smoke shouldn't have well being disorders, they do, however now not close to as dangerous a people who smoke. Come paintings with me. I administer chemo to persons of their 30's with lung melanoma who've smoked because they have been 10. The proof can not be denied.

BC/BS FL offers various policies, from full coverage packages fro large employers, such as the State of Florida, to more restrictive HMO policies. I know of patients who've had the very same prostate cancer treatment and gotten very different reimbursements from BC/BS FL. You need to ask.

It will pay for typical treatment. You need to check how much you have to pay. It may not pay for experimental treatment or other alternative treatments.
