I am really interested in becoming a physician, and I want to know what kind of things a pediatric oncologist is required to do. I know that they treat children with cancer, but do they only diagnos? or do they preform surgeries to remove tumors as well?

Is there truly any evidence that artificial sweetners and chemicals (i.e. Aspartame) actually cause cancer?
I use a lot of sweetners, like sweet n low, and drink a lot of diet sodas. Am I putting myself at risk?

Any oppinions are appreciated! Thanks!

I had a pap smear done in January and the results came back as a mild atypia. I had a baby the beginning of December. Would the baby have anything to do with it? Are there any physical symptoms? Please help

My idea is to raise one million dollars for cancer research, using both highly favored (celebrities) figures, and every state. Our country is so focused on helping everyone else, that I would like to help raise money for the cancer patients right here in the US. I would like to set out a majority of projects, but I do't know where to start? How do I even get started and get celebs and state governments involved?

My husband had some blood and urine test the other day, when he got the call from his Nephrologist, he refered him to a cancer doctor. Here are his results from the IFE and PE serum test that caused the panic.. Protein, total serum 7.7, Immunoglobulin g, quant serm 2093, Immunoglobulina 38,Immunoglobulin m, 26 Albumin 4.3, alpha 1 globulin 0.2 alpha 2 globulin 0.5 beta golbulin 0.8, gamma globulin 1.9 m-spike 1.6... He was sent for a full body scan last week and we have to wait until next week to see the cancer doctor for results.. this is nerve rackening! He shows no symtoms, just the normal aches and pains for a 65 yr old man. I guess what I am asking is what type of ride are we in for..???

Don't take my word for it, this guy is a heavyweight researcher that was funded by lot's of gov. and cancer association grants...

Animal protein is anything like dairy, meat, eggs, fish, etc.

The only protein that does not relate to cancer is from plants.

SO i went to the doctors recently and he was checking my testicles because i felt something unusual but he said was completely fine, and when he checked my right one it felt a little more sensitive than the left one. Like i can check the left one just fine but in the right one it seems to hurt, well not hurt but a slight pain if i compress the same amount of pressure to check for lumps on the right side. Like i do the same amount on my left too but on my right it just feels a little more uncomfortable. I mean i've allways checked them by myself but just the sensitiveness that gets me on that one. I mean it not very sensitive just more of a cautious one. And ideas? I don't think it is testicular cancer because i would believe i would have more of a bigger pain and even l would at least have more than one symptom. So any guesses or am i just being over caustious? Thanks.

Has anyone ever had a AVM, or vascular tumor removed from the spine just located in the throat area connected to the c-7 vertebre. Very rare and I had many opinions , but not satisfied with the answers from dr's. i been told very very rare and the tumor is supposidly eating at my bone, feeders have attached itself to tumor says one dr. Another dr said fractured spine where tumor located. Has anyone every gone thru a procedure like this or know of somewhere where i can locate someone to talk to about this with. Im looking for another or others that have gone thru this procedure. Is there a forum where other people in this situation can compare/talk/or exchange stories or ideas? Need help thanks. I need reassurance that this has been done somewhere by some one. Ive been thru many dr's and no one has seen anything like this. SOMEONE has to have gone thru this or know someone with the same issues somewhere.
