You get a hole drilled through the slab or basement floor, and a pipe is inserted. The edges are then sealed up. The pipe runs up through the roof. A fan is installed to suck the radon gas up the pipe and vent it into the air.

Radon is a naturally-occurring radioactive gas. It usually comes into houses through cracks in the basement floor, and becomes trapped (since most houses don't push fresh air through the central air ducts, the radon stays inside, and the levels increase.)

Make sure you consult your local Department of Health for details and permits, and to get a certified radon remediation company.

radon is a naturally occuring gas which comes from the decay of radioactive ores in the ground.

You get rid of it from houses by ventilating the basement or crawl space and disperse it outside.

It is hazardous when concentrated.
