When they do a Radical Colon removal in Cancer patients why cant they do a transplant of a new colon to return normal function to a person rather than a colostomy bag?

Simply because not much money goes into researching large colon transplants. This is because we can live quite happily without it, albeit with a bag. They need to spend money researching transplants for organs we can't live without instead.

Also, in cases of diseases like colon cancer, crohns, ulcerative colitis, etc, the disease is just as likely to come back and attack the new colon anyway.

some colon transplants are done, mostly experimentally -but not for cancer.
What would guarantee that cancer would not come there also particularly as when you have a transplant you need a lot of medication that will keep your immunity down -which provokes cancers.Besides the immunology of the intestines are very complicated. If it were simple it would have been done already!
