I'm interested in starting to play the Final Fantasy games, but with 12 games I'm not sure where to start. Should I start with the first and work my way through or is there a specific one that would be good to start with?

I saw this toy on tv and my son loved it i wanted it for christmas but i cant remember the name. its the toy that sits on the ground and either uses batteries or plugs in i dont know. but it pushes these balls into the air and they battle untill one is pushed out of the path of the air. U can attach diffrent weapons on the balls. and i think the name started with a V.If any one knows what im talking about please let me know the name! Its driving me crazy i been watching commercials hopeing to see it again. Thanks
