Ok, I was born in 66 so some of my memories will be early 70's but here goes: My parents set my behavioural boundaries, they were very limited. Physical boundaries, the whole world was just my street, the corner shop and the longish walk to school. The feel was, in retrospect, a hangover from the post-war years. But of course I didn't know that at the time. Music - my parents were big Buddy Holly fans, and also the Carpenters. TV - I didn't watch much but I remember the Flower Pot men and what I think was called Watch With Mother. I don't recall any news events but I do remember being aware that Buddy Holly had died at some point in the past. The first major news event that had any significance for me was the death of Elvis - I became aware that something dramatic had happened outside of my little world. My favourite toys under aged 10 were a toy pedal tractor with a little trailer which I used to ride about, my spacehopper, a spinning top. I don't recall any magazines but used to get the Beano and Dandy in the early 70's Films - the one that made a lifelong impression was the musical Oliver Smells - under 5 years, the smell of my neighbour cooking lamb chops - she used to let me have one if I behaved. Baked beans on toast. Hope that helps!
