We are in the middle of a family discussion that came up about twinkies. Someone here thinks that a twinkie will last 100 years. And also thinks that nothing will eat a twinkie like bugs and mice etc. Does anyone out there know about what the shelf life of a twinkie is? Or what about the mice? is this true? Does anyone know how to deep fry a twinkie?

How do you keep peeled potatoes fresh? Too last longer through the week.?

I like to get all my chopping out of the way, so I do it on the week-end. Potatoes are something I dread doing on week nights when I have little time.

How do I put items such as candy etc. into jello? Do I need to add anything...?

I have to make a model out of food for my science class and I was thinking of using jello... Can I just add objects inside of it? Will it set well? Or do i have to add something else. The things I'm thinking of adding are candy, noodles etc.

Are sliced turkey and chicken breast from a deli considered cold cuts?

My wife is reading a diet book and it says not to eat cold cuts. I told her that cold cuts does not mean sliced turkey or chicken breast you get at the deli counter at the supermarket.
