I guess it would be good to break this into two questions:

1) What is the best Hot Dog that you can by at the grocery store?

2) What is the best Hot Dod you've ever had? At a stand, ball park, restaurant? Where was it? And what was it like?

I like Vienna Beef Hot Dogs -- as far as the kind you find at the grocery store.

Portillo's Hot dogs in Chicago are the best I've had at any restaurant, although there are some that I have yet to try & bet would be awesome, like Rippers, Creamers (both fried hot dogs) and Pinky's in California.

Best hot dog in a grocery store Vienna(13 years in Chicago)best dog ever(also from Chicago)Leon's you have to look for them at a butcher or Italian grocery and even more rarely at a hot dog stand. i mean if I saw a stand that sold them I stopped to get 1 or 3(no matter what-Thank God I didn't pass one on the way to get married)

The best "hot dog" is Hebrew National.

Ooooo- ahhhhh, someone above mentioned Johnsonville Brats. They're good off the BBQ! Yes, I'm one of THOSE people who over condimentize. Oh well ... :-q

The best hot dog I've had was at:
Margo's Vienna Station
3442 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, CO
Tiny "fast food" joint, nestled between the tourist traps of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs.
Besides just being a hop-skip-and jump from my front door, it's absolutely the best!

The best hot dog at the supermarket in the USA is Hebrew National, the best place to eat one is at Chicago Ohare Airport, the lady on the G concourse made the best Chicago style dogs. (I used to work there!), and in the UK, the best hot dogs are at Costco, but I forgot what brand they are. There is no place to get a good hot dog to eat here in the UK, they all taste like mush, except at the canteen in Costco.

I love Best Kosher Dogs, they are best at the ball park. You can get them in STL or CHI. But I think you can find them at grocery stores in most places. I suggest that you grill them and load them up with grilled onions and spicy brown mustard, all on top of a Rosen poppy seed bun (I can only find these buns in Chicago, man do I miss them.)

I even have in no way heard of putting mayo on a warm dogs. you ought to positioned pickle get excitement from and mustard or meat and bean chilli with mustard and chopped onions! those are the two mind-blowing. i'm no longer a great ketchup fan cos it particularly is often candy and provides to the wonder of the nice and cozy dogs's seasoning...
