Why is U.S. Godiva chocolate 3 times sweeter than France's?

And, does anyone agree our pastries, cake, ice-cream or soda are over sweetened?

Me, I loves the chocolate.. but the industry has a rather "dark side" (mmmmm.. dark chocolate) that gives a whole new meaning to the term "guilty pleasure"...

As a commodity sold as futures on the exchange - apparently 2/3 of all cocoa produced comes from West Africa, where it has been alleged that an estimated 90% of cocoa farms in Côte d'Ivoire have used some form of slave labour in order to remain viable. When cocoa prices drop, farmers in West Africa sometimes cut costs by resorting to slave labour...

So, with that in mind - would YOU pay more for your chocolate to ensure it was fair trade? Would you boycott your favourite bar if you thought it might mae a difference to their practices and ethics..?

I love having breakfast at lunch of dinner time. My hubbie isn't thrilled with it- but I love it!!! I'm hopeing for a waffle or a pancake for lunch today!

Your RDA of fruit and veg is 5 aday, crisps are made of potato and potato is a veg, so does it count? and what would happen to me if I ate 5 bags of crisps a day?

Here's mine: A bag of waffle pretzels (square or circle), a bag of PB filled hershey kisses and a bag of m&m's. Put pretzels on a parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Put a kiss in the center of each pretzel. Bake at 350* for 2 minutes. Right when they come out put an m&m on top (push the tip of the kiss down with the candy). Refridgerate for 20 minutes. Pack in your storage container and keep in the fridge. YUMMY!
