I purchased some whole coffee beans for a friend for Christmas. They're in a paper bag (not lined) that seals pretty securely at the top with a twist-tie of sorts. How long will they keep? I wasn't planning on giving her her gift until Friday, but I'm worried about the beans. Right now they're in the same paper bag at room temperature. Will they keep this way (without going stale) until Friday, or should I give them to her, or put them in an airtight container in the fridge? Help!

I hate soda. I can't tolerate the carbonation. It feels like a thousand tiny nails pounding at my tongue. How can people enjoy this without being some kind of sick masochist? I don't mind root beer and cream soda, or flat soda, because I can actually enjoy the taste without the pain distracting me. And for the most part I crave ice cold water and green tea instead the way most people crave soda.

I've seen fruit flavored water, but never licorice flavored water. What are people's thoughts on this?

Personally, I don't think it's *that* crazy given that Jones soda has found there is actually a niche market for Egg Nog flavored soda!
