I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A LAXATIVE BECAUSE IT MAKES ME GO WHEN I DRINK IT . I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON WHO DRINKS IT AND THE EFFECT .

Not a laxative, tho many people are conditioned to take their "daily constitiution" upon smelling morning coffee.

As far as a diuretic, coffee is not per se, but caffeine is. Which we all know is found in abundance in coffee.

actually it has the reverse effect on your body. it's been said that too much caffeine can make you constipated. it's true.

Because coffee contains caffiene and caffiene is a stimulant.Therefore it tends to aggravate the sensitive intestines.Try using a decaffienated kind or try drinking a half glass of cold water before you have your coffee.This will help dilute it a little in the stomach and make it a little easier to tolerate inside your colon.. good luck

Not really, but it sure works like one sometimes.... Even Folders now has "Gentle on the stomach" on the label.... Whenever I felt like I needed to go....I made a cup of good strong Folders...Worked like a charm!!!! lol!
