My lovely old percolator went to the big coffee shop in the sky this year...I've been trying to make my iced tea simply by boiling water in a pot on the stove, but I'm getting something wrong somewhere because it tastes absolutely blah. I'm trying to fill a 2.5 quart pitcher, which I usually fill with ice before I dump the tea in, so I try and make the tea strong--actually very strong, because I prefer it strong and I don't sweeten it. Any ideas on proportions of water/tea bags/ice to use? Should I not be boiling it?
